Safe treatment while having regard for the environment

Remedia Group is specialized in collecting and treating Electrical and Electronic  Equipment. Over the last few years it has acquired expertise in dealing with Batteries and Lead Accumulators and, yet more recently, with Photovoltaic Panels.  The assessment and inspection process it conducts on its suppliers, which is specifically designed for technological waste, establishes whether they have the effective resources and technology to minimize environmental impact while at the same time recovering on average over 91% of secondary raw materials.

Thanks to its recycling of WEEE, Remedia in 2011 secured a saving of 165, 396, 163 kWh (corresponding to the annual energy consumption of a town with a population of 197,265), avoided  emissions of 155,641 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent and recovered 32,689t of materials.

Remedia has no direct or indirect holding in the companies that perform the collection and treatmen operations. For this reason it enjoys complete independence and freedom in selecting the best operators in the market.

Traceability of technological waste

ReMedia is aware of the background of the technological waste entrusted to it. From the time the waste is withdrawn from a Waste Collection Centre up to the time each material recovered re-enters the production system, close control is exercised over waste movement. 
The is possible thanks to an integrated Information System connected in real-time with the suppliers and backed by non-stop inspections in the field.

Competitive costs

The number and the individual scale of the Producers that ReMedia represent mean that large volumes of technological waste are handled, with the effect that performance and operating costs are optimised, while at the same time environmental performance is high.

N°1 for territorial coverage and punctual collections

At present there are 19 approved plants that treat waste daily for ReMedia and ensure that the same level of service is offered across the whole of Italy.  Accordingly, the distance travelled between the point where the waste is produced and the treatment plant is reduced.  By this token, so also is the pollution.  In 2011 ReMedia achieved a level of punctuality in its collection services of 98%.
